In the summer of 2009, Rafael Trevino, a 44-year-old Hispanic laborer from Texas, came to Iowa to detassel corn. He left early that summer, with emotional and physical scars that would change his life.
For three years since then, Trevino has waited for justice in the courts. Finally this month, it appeared it might come. But then the ball was spectacularly dropped by the Iowa attorney general’s office.
