Mid Valley Town Crier – Wages suit filed against Buffalo Wing restaurant

A federal court lawsuit filed Aug. 30 claims Buffalo Wings and Rings, 1600 N. Westgate Dr., violated workers’ rights under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Abigail Cavazos, Sandra Marin and Berenice Cantu are suing the company and its general manager under the FLSA, which establishes a national minimum wage and guarantees time-and-a-half wages for overtime worked in certain jobs, said Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid attorney Kathryn Youker.

“These women worked long and hard hours only to never be paid for them,” Youker said. “…Employers cannot refuse to pay employees the wages they have earned for any reason.”
