Some tenants of a southeast Austin apartment complex will have to move out and make way for a new housing development.
Grayco owns several apartment complexes by East Riverside near Lady Bird Lake. Last month, people living at the Shoreline complex received a notice saying they had until August 19 to move out.
In 2009, a city ordinance allowed Grayco to develop a new commercial residential housing unit, but the city said the company must first help current residents find new places to live by distributing $90,000 among them.
