Two years ago, Grayco Partners put a deal on the table that was fair, attractive and beneficial to developing Austin’s waterfront. We enthusiastically endorsed it, and the Austin City Council approved it. We still believe it’s a plus for Austin, but Grayco must show good faith and keep its promise to help residents displaced by the company’s $200 million project find new homes.
It is the city’s job to ensure that the company makes good on its pledge, and that displaced residents — mostly low-income families — are not left in the lurch.
