EL PASO, Texas – December 2, 2010 – Former employees of the ASARCO lead-copper smelter will come together with other community organizations, including Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA), at a press conference on Monday, December 6, 2010 to release new information regarding the flawed cleanup-remediation plan of the former ASARCO site. The workers, led by Carlos Rodriguez, plan on revealing new information regarding ASARCO’s history of getting rid of contaminants and call upon the Environmental Protection Agency to take over oversight of the remediation.
