David G. Hall, executive director of Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, has had an important impact on the law in Texas — and on the lives of many low-income Texans who cannot afford lawyers — by devoting his career to legal aid.

Hall, a 1969 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, has been executive director of Weslaco-based TRLA (formerly Texas Rural Legal Aid) for more than 25 years. TRLA provides free civil and criminal legal services to indigent residents of Southwest Texas. It’s the nation’s third-largest legal aid organization.
