The Esperanza Peace and Justice Center will show an award-winning, short-documentary on human trafficking and host a discussion afterward about the issue Thursday evening.
Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Catholic Charities and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department trafficking unit are also hosting the event and are scheduled to be a part of the discussion.
The program will begin at 7 p.m. with a screening of “Svetlana’s Journey,” a 40-minute movie by Michael Cory Davis that documents the experience of one young woman. Following the movie, experts in the field will discuss what can be done to combat the problem in this community.
