Texas Lawyer Blog – Legal Help For Those Leaving Foster Care

The Texas Foster Youth Justice Project (FYJP), which provides free legal services to current and former foster youths, in December published a guide for those transitioning out of foster care, says FYJP director Mary Christine Reed. “A Guide For Those ‘Aging Out’ of Foster Care in Texas” has information about getting a driver’s license, opening a bank account and obtaining state benefits while completing a high school education, she says.
