Seven residents of the Mercedes Palms Apartments have filed a lawsuit against the Department of Housing and Urban Development and California-based American Secured Capital.
The group says HUD and ASC failed to maintain the complex as a resource for low-income tenants, a news release from Texas RioGrande Legal Aid said.
The residents claim they are being forced from the complex after HUD failed to pay for building renovations.
