LAREDO, Texas – October 25, 2011 – The Laredo legal community will come together to recognize local pro bono volunteers at the 4th Bi-Annual Social Justice Night Court Appreciation Luncheon and Awards Ceremony as part of National Celebrate Pro Bono Week. The luncheon will feature a keynote address from Betty Balli-Torres, Executive Director of the Texas Access to Justice Foundation, and Justice Gina Benavides of the 13th Court of Appeals.
National Celebrate Pro Bono Week is sponsored by the American Bar Association and aims to highlight the difference that pro bono lawyers make in the justice system. The celebration lasts from October 23 through October 29 and is dedicated to encouraging private attorneys to donate pro bono hours to low-income residents in need of legal help.
