The Texas Taxpayer Assistance Project is helping citizens in the area who have problems with the Internal Revenue Service and the last couple of weeks they have been doing this at the Region One Adult Service Center.
As part of the Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid, the nonprofit organization offers free services for those with issues with the IRS.
“Many people file their taxes every year and instead of getting a check they get a letter saying they’re missing information, they’re not going to get their refund or they owe the IRS money,” Reveriano Torres, outreach coordinator, said. “When that happens we want them to know that they can actually fight that decision.”
